Thirteen 1st Durbanville Scouts Bound for the 26th World Scout Jamboree

Thirteen excited Scouts from 1st Durbanville have been selected to attend the 26th World Scout Jamboree, set to take place in Poland in 2027. The global gathering will unfold on the enchanting Wyspa Sobieszewska (Polish for Sobieszewska Island); a breathtaking stretch of land within the historic city of Gdańsk on the Baltic Sea coast.

The Jamboree site spans 300 hectares of fields and meadows, with activities planned across lush forests and sandy beaches; an unforgettable experience for the tens of thousands of young people who will gather there from every corner of the world.

For the thirteen 1st Durbanville Scouts, the journey to Poland is not just a travel adventure but the culmination of dedication, leadership, and hard work. To qualify, youth participants must meet strict criteria. Eligible Scouts must be born between 15 August 2009 and 15 July 2013, be active members of an SD-registered SCOUTS South Africa troop and hold the Discoverer badge before departing South Africa.

For the 1st Durbanville contingent, fundraising preparations are already underway, and excitement is growing by the day. As the countdown to 2027 begins, these thirteen Scouts are ready to carry the 1st Durbanville spirit across continents and into the heart of one of Scouting’s greatest global celebrations.
